Multidisciplinary artist based in Baleal, Portugal
Carolina Pércia was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She lives and works in Portugal.
From the beginning of her life, Carol has been drawn to the beauty of nature and how it works.
In all her art forms, Carol seeks a even grater connection with nature, either in beautiful tattoos, sculptures or paintings using different natural techniques and materials.
Tattoo
— a piece of art that becomes a part of you instead of being hung on a wall.
My primary focus is realism, using a tattooing technique known as ‘rastelado,’ which creates the delicate effect seen in my tattoos.
Wood engravings
Wood engravings are created using the technique of pyrography, where the only tool I use is a pen with a metal tip that heats up to create the art.
The wood is carefully selected for both its appearance and the sustainability of its source.
Natural paints
Natural paints carry ancestral knowledge, with geological and plant pigments that last for years and can still be found in cave paintings.
Ceramics
Ceramics have a long-lasting presence in the world, with ancient pieces still being discovered today, preserved for many years.
This makes ceramic objects nearly eternal—an art form meant to be passed down from generation to generation.
Watercolor
Watercolor’s fluidity allows for spontaneity, resulting in unique works of art. My watercolors can be made with either natural or conventional paints, with natural paints typically producing softer, more pastel tones.
If you are interested in purchasing a natural watercolor kit, I also sell them.
